About ME
HI its great to meet you and thank you for visiting, I am obviously Laura! I'm based in Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire, with my husband Peter and our little boy Teddy.
If you are looking for a hair and makeup artist who specialises in natural, glowing, radiant makeup using Cruelty Free and Vegan products then I am your artist!
I’ve always had a love for art and design. After studying it for many years, life took me in a very different direction, but I eventually found my way back to my creative root, exhibiting my artwork and even selling some pieces along the way!
In 2016, I got married and absolutely loved planning our wedding, especially the hair and makeup. It was then I realised I could combine my artistic flair with my love of beauty to help other brides feel amazing on their special day.
I’m a country girl at heart, with a deep love for animals and the environment. My passion for kindness to animals shines through in my commitment to using cruelty free products, many of which are vegan friendly, and I try to source British made products whenever possible to help reduce our impact on the planet. As a small way of giving back, I plant a tree on my parents’ farm in North Essex, for every booking I take helping nature grow, one wedding at a time.
Using my previous professional background, I’m able to truly listen to what brides want and take this responsibility very seriously. I provide bridal hair and makeup services across East Anglia, London and beyond. I’m VTCT Level 2 qualified in Makeup (Sarah Artistry) with hair training from the Lisa Alger Academy.
Fun facts about me;
- I love magic and if you need recommendations I know a few!
- I have two differently sized feet (makes shoe shopping interesting!).
- I can ride a pirouette on a horse yes, really!
- I’m a bit of a plane nerd and love everything aviation-related, but I draw the line at standing outside watching them at the end of the runway!
- I have lots of fun (and sometimes gruesome!) stories from my old job ask me at your trial if you dare! Those who are squeamish or nervous disposition, maybe don’t.
- I’m a coffee lover and can’t start my day without a good cup.

Cruelty Free Products
First and foremost, I am an animal lover and firmly believe that no animal should suffer for our beauty. I am committed to using products that are cruelty free and ethically sourced wherever possible, because beauty should never come at the cost of an animal’s wellbeing.
Many people assume that cruelty free, vegan, or ethically sourced products are somehow inferior, this is simply not true. I use some incredible brands, including Illamasqua, Fenty, Hourglass, Charlotte Tilbury, Cosmetic À La Carte, Urban Decay, and Tropic, to name just a few. The cosmetic and beauty industry is making great strides toward eradicating outdated and cruel practices, and I am proud to support these positive changes, being among a handful of Hair and Makeup Artists who actively do so and solely use those products. I call beauty with a conscience.

My Approach
I create a relaxed and enjoyable experience for both your trial at my studio in Bishops Stortford, and on your wedding day. My goal is for you to feel completely happy both during your appointment and with your finished look.
On your wedding morning, I’m more than your Hair and Makeup Artist, I’m your calm, supportive presence, ensuring everything runs seamlessly. Whether it’s topping up your glass, helping you into your shoes, or gently steadying pre-ceremony nerves, I’m there as your extra pair of hands (the very steady kind, thanks to years of lipliner practice!).
Beautiful results begin well before the first brushstroke. Skincare and hair preparation are at the heart of my approach, laying the foundation for a flawless finish. I carefully test all the brands I use to ensure they meet both your expectations as a client and my own high standards as a Hair and Makeup artist. I also train regularly in both hair and makeup, keeping my skills and kit current with the latest products and techniques, so you can relax knowing you’re in expert, reliable hands, with just the right touch of sparkle.
I aim to provide a fun, friendly, and professional environment, helping you feel confident and fabulous on your special day.

Booking Process and the important stuff
The Booking Process
A £100 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is required to secure your booking. This deposit will be deducted from your final invoice. Your date will be confirmed and reserved in my diary once the deposit has been received. Please note that dates cannot be held without a deposit
Travel
Travel and Accommodation
Mileage shall be charged at a rate of £0.55 per mile (round trip) from CM23. Any additional expenses incurred, including but not limited to parking fees, tolls, and congestion charges, shall be the sole responsibility of the client and shall be reimbursed in full.
In circumstances where it is not reasonably practicable to travel on the day of the event, including, without limitation, where insufficient time is available on the morning of the wedding or event, or where adverse weather conditions are forecast, suitable hotel accommodation will be required. All costs relating to such accommodation, including but not limited to room charges, parking, and subsistence, shall be borne exclusively by the client.
The provider reserves the right to review and amend mileage rates and travel-related charges at any time to reflect changes in fuel prices, statutory allowances, or other associated costs. The applicable rate shall be confirmed to the client at the time of booking.
Cancellations
Cancellations
While it is my sincere hope that these terms will not need to be applied, I understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise and a booking may need to be cancelled.
- Deposits and trial fees are strictly non-refundable.
- Cancellation of hair, makeup, or both services will incur the following charges based on the time remaining before the wedding date:
- 5 months prior: 25% of the final balance payable.
- 4 months prior: 50% of the final balance payable.
- 3 months prior: 75% of the final balance payable.
- 2 months prior (or less): 100% of the final balance payable.
- 5 months prior: 25% of the final balance payable.
If cancellation takes place after a trial has been carried out, both the deposit and trial fees will be retained.
In the unlikely event that I am required to cancel a booking (for reasons beyond my control), every reasonable effort will be made to source an alternative artist. Should this not be possible, or should the alternative artist be deemed unacceptable by the client, any deposit already paid will be refunded in full. This represents the limit of my liability.
All cancellations must be made in writing.
Changes to Bridal Party Numbers
- If you wish to add services on the day, I will make every effort to accommodate additional individuals. However, this cannot be guaranteed due to time constraints.
- Should you wish to remove individuals from the agreed booking, full payment will remain due for the original quoted number.
- If you wish to substitute names (i.e. different individuals receive the agreed services, but the total number remains the same), this is permitted — please notify me in advance.
- If you wish to increase the total number of people receiving services, please notify me as soon as possible. While I will do my best to accommodate the request, it may be necessary to engage additional hair and makeup artists. In such cases, a £50 surcharge will apply.
